Hi all,
I have the subject under for the Lionel jlc streamlined Hudson which works great. I just purchased the 18056 Hudson and it works fine but will not respond with the PT tender. I reprogrammed it to the same number as the Streamline Hudson and it still won't respond?? Please advise how to get it to work if it is possible.

You can't reprogram a tender, only locomotives.
There's a good chance you can have your 18056 work with the 38097 by restoring the locomotive.
Restore/reprogram your Hudson using the following procedure:

To use the 38097 with your 18056, use the 74 restore code. To go back to using your Hudson with the tender it came with, go back to the proper 740 code.

Do you get sound when you place the Vanderbilt tender on the streamline tender? Check to make sure the engine drawbar is fully inserted into the PT tender drawbar. The IR emitter may not be lining up with the receiver.

I reprogrammed and everything works fine.
By the way, it is missing one tool box at the center lower part of the tender. Does anyone maybe have one of these things? I would appreciate it if someone might have one for sale?

Glad to hear that changing the "restore" code on the locomotive helped. Remember that you'll need to go back to the 740 code if you want to use the Vanderbilt tender that came with your loco.
The underside tool boxes for that Vanderbilt tender (6918056T74) are fragile and difficult to find. Bill at S&W still has them listed, but he couldn't locate them when I tried to purchase a few years back. But he still might be worth an e-mail. None of the other online dealers had them when I inquired.

Bill lists his parts in a non-standard format, so the part number on his list is 6-8056-T74. Again, he couldn't find them when I tried to order a few years back, but maybe you'll have better luck.
