A recent Lionel GG1 post included, in the ensuing discussion, the fact that the 1977 #8753 5-stripe tuscan ( strange color version) has nylon gears-while the next version in PC black colors, #8850, had metal gears. I think that I remember reading something about the initial 8850s using up the nylon gears from the 8753 production-and I do have such a 8850 with nylon gears. I guess it was possible that it could have been switched from a 8753 floor/motors/trucks assembly. Does anybody have any knowledge about this and/or could those of you with a 8850 PC GG-1 check your engine for nylon vs. metal gearing. Thanks in advance-P Hering
