It would be helpful if each manufacture had a page on their web site that indicated what custom runs were made for a particular hobby shop. I seem to run across things I would have ordered only after its too late. If there was some resource to see what custom things were being made that would be helpful.

I agree.
Easiest thing is to subscribe to each of the sponsors on here which do the customer runs. You'll get a notice of any new thread/topic they create. While this will provide more than just the custom run info, it will get you what you want.
OGR should have some boxcars made!!! I would buy one!

True. But I imagine there are hobby shops that do custom runs that are not sponsors. I recall last year stumbling into a custom run of NJ Transit engines that was not from a forum sponsor. One quick reference spot would be helpful.

Good idea. The old Atlas-O website used to have a page showing custom runs and I occasionally learned about an item that way...
That is a good idea. Weaver used to do it and the list was quite lengthy. I bought only a few freight cars from that list if they met my needs.
That Upper Mich. group mentioned their offerings on here, so l got a couple. A shop near Lafayette, Ind. even did Monon and NKP MTH moguls way back when. That variety keeps it interesting, and the short runs sell...
If you are interested in Canadian railroads, you should get on the Canadian Toy Train Association web site. We issue a new car each year. Weaver, Atlas & MTH. Lionel's min order is too large. They always sell out, so order early
Canadian Toy Train Association cars are very good - they also have done a couple of locomotives. Strongly recommended!
MTH announced today that they made the Santa Fe Gold ALCo PA1 and have shipped them to dealers, like us, that ordered this uncatalogued item. Ours came in today. The matching passenger cars will be here in May.
