While mine has not arrived yet; I was informed that the front number plate shows “60” as it should, but “BALDWIN LOCOMOTIVE COMPANY”

Hmm?? Never heard of such a company.

Sigh

This is not a deal-breaker for me. I grew up a short distance from Flemington, which is home to the Black River & Western, and used to visit the RR and ride the train as a kid with my Dad, so when this loco was announced, I wanted to get one. Overall, it looks and runs great. So far, it has run almost flawlessly; yesterday, I got the flashing cab light and had to reset it, but it has happened only once so far. I'll continue to monitor it. If someone makes a new set of BRW passenger cars, I'd be tempted. The ones Lionel made a few years ago didn't interest me due to the location of the trucks.

Only reason I ordered this one (60) is that I bought that set from a couple years back, and I did address the trucks.

I just looked at my BRW #60, and the builder's plate on the side of the smoke box indicates ALCO built it. So, depending on your point of view, it was built either by ALCO or Baldwin.

100% Alco. On the real deal it says so, and even on the BR&W Roster site it indicates Alco. I don't know how this got fudged, someone must have not done something right. I thought maybe the group of engines produced were between Alco & Baldwin, but that still is inexcusable to overlook that.
