I bought the Lionel camera caboose in the Chessie road name, was able to load the camera onto my Ipad as per Dave Olsen's instruction to add it once you go into the app. It performed flawlessly all day at the Brick show as I had a large monitor hooked up to the IPad.

The question for Dave Olsen or someone here on OGR is you can split the screen into 4's or quarters. When you do that, the caboose projects onto 1 of those 4 quarters. We tried adding a 2nd caboose but the IPad would only accept 1 wifi caboose signal. How do you add a 2nd caboose and operate 2 at the same time?

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF SPLITTING THE SCREENS INTO QUARTERS IF YOU CANNOT PROJECT ANOTHER CABOOSE FROM ANOTHER LAYOUT OR LOOP OF TRACK ON THE ONE LAYOUT YOU HAVE A CABOOSE SENDING IMAGES?

Thank you,

Ted

Alan,

It was clear on the Ipad, a little less on the large monitor. Overall for the price of this scale detailed caboose with a camera, I was pleased with the performance. Best part was showing the train moving along the rails at a show with the large monitor.

If you have not bought one and are on the fence, do yourself a favor and buy one. Fun to use. There are adjustments that you can do to the picture but did not see a reason to fool around with at a show as it was working fine.

Hokie71,

Me too. Having the available use of additional cabooses operating at the same time on your layout gives you more viewing. But, the IPad would not accept more than 1 wifi signal. It saw the other wifi caboose but would not connect.

We were able to connect the 2nd caboose on a different phone and view on that phone but not on the large monitor that was tied into the Ipad.

You would need to put the cabooses on the same wireless access point / network (which you can do in the settings of each caboose). If you connect to each caboose directly then they are treated as their own individual access point, and yes you can only connect directly to one, but if they were both on your home network as an example then they both should show up as an available camera in the apps menu.

Ran the Chessie wifi camera caboose at the club tonight off my IPhone. Picture was quite clear and had it facing towards the rear. Really cool watching it go through tunnels and around our layout.

Bummer that you cannot connect to multiple cabooses at a show and run them all off 1 monitor. I understand the concept that Matt posted on you tube and Thank you, Matt.
