Hello All

I've asked this question before and even emailed the good folks at Lionel to see if they are going ahead and making the 18" aluminum C&O passenger cars. I know that Lionel went to the plastic 21" C&O passenger cars and canceled the aluminum ones. The only thing I don't understand is why the item numbers still show up on the shipping schedule of 11-12-2015. T W canceled the aluminum cars I had ordered. I guess I am nuts to beleave the Lionel shipping schedule of 11-12-2015. Any one else confused?

Thanks All

From what I've read the aluminum cars have been cancelled and replaced with the 21" plastic cars. You really can't put much faith in the shipping schedules.

I talked to the Lionel fellow at York who is responsible for the 21" cars (sorry I don't remember his name) and asked him if the 21" cars shown in the Lionel catalog were going to be the ESE cars displayed at York with simply other roads paint schemes applied. He said they were so the 21" C&O cars shown in the LIonel catalog will be very inaccurate as compared to the C&O prototypes. You just have to decide if that's OK. It's not for me and I'm passing on them.

I am modeling the C&O, Chrssie and some rogue B&O and W M.I started on the C&O out of high school in 1969. Worked for Uncle Sugar in South East Asia for a couple years then back to the C&O. So I bereave none of what I hear and half of what I see. However I ended up with two sets of Lionel C&O E8 AA units from the 2014 catalog. So I guess the car types won't matter that much. If I run the Sportsman no one will know the difference. In 69 the Sport only had 4 cars from Columbus to Toledo.

Thanks For Comeback
