Does anyone out there have the Lionel culvert loader/unloader combination and care to measure the combined length and width of the two when connected. I know the dimensions of each unit but it's hard to tell how much track length they take up when connected together with the little plastic ramp.

It looks like the post-war versions are different sizes.

I have two post-war culvert setups on the layout.  One is the 342 connected to the 345 and the other set is the 346 manual loader connected to the 342 and both sets measure 24 7/8” by 9 ½”.  I double-checked the measurements on the first one because they were different than what anyone else had posted.

I use the Transition pieces to go from Fastrack to tubular for the actual loading/unloading stations.

The new versions do support FasTrack just fine.  My brother has the Bethelem Steel version and uses Fastrack.  I wonder if that is why MrMoe50 had slightly different dimensions than did Gunrunnerjohn.  Slightly wider for wider track perhaps?

The depth I'm less worried about and I plan to buy it from my LHS so I'll be able to double check that it's FasTrack compatible. I can extend out 12" no problem. It's more the combined length I need to worry about. The plastic connecting ramp and ensuing gap make it hard to figure out the combined length from the catalog numbers (assuming those are even accurate!) Hoping to have enough room for both units and the #3356 horse/cattle corral accessory on this spur. That would give me 7 operating accessories plus two dumping bins for operating cars within my small layout and without things being too crowded.
