Lionel Direct Lockon or Not?

Hey all, my TPC 400 keeps knocking out when I have 2 or 3 TMCC engines on one track. If I want to bypass the TPC altogether, should I use the Lionel Direct Lockon or can I just wire my 180-Watt PowerHouse Power Supply directly to the layout? Thanks in advance.

You might want to figure out why the breaker is popping on your TPC. I've had two bricks through a TPC and never popped the breaker, the breaker on bricks always popped first and that only happened during a derailment.

Having said that yes, a direct lockon is recommended when connecting your brick directly to the track, the lockon has a breaker as well.
