Hello all. I have a Lionel 6-84946 that was purchased new when it was released. I don't have a permanent layout so I only run it during the holidays around the tree. When it was new everything worked perfectly. As time when on, the headlight started to have issues and at times would not come on at all. The times it would come on it started very dim and then it would brighten to normal. Over the years the headlight would come on less and less. This year it didn't come on at all. I took the shell off and I didn't notice and issues with the wiring. I am using a Legacy 990 for control.
Any ideas on what is causing this issue and what I should check? It wasn't the same seeing a beautiful steamer running around the tree without a headlight.
