Lionel fasttrack question: which rail is the (hot) positive rail?

The center rail is the hot rail and you will find that the set up with the tabs on the bottom of the track works great. You can also add feeders wherever you like.

    The Center Rails is always the Hot Rail when running 3 Rail Track, come back when you are ready to run DCS & Legacy, all kinds of help here on the OGR for ya!  You will love the FasTrack Command Control Switches also.

 I'm hooking it up now on the dining room table.. I have the MTH remote commander and I've never used it yet, and I've got our new MTH Berkshire that I haven't ran yet, so I'm considering firing it all up tonight so I can run it for our little guy tomorrow.  

do you know how much I will be missing out on (with sounds) by just using the remote commander? We will probably only run this one train on this track for now so I know I am not needing a system to run multiple trains at once. But I was wondering if there's this big thing I'm missing out on by not having the nice dcs remote? 

There is nothing that you will be missing to keep little guy and yourself entertained by not having the full DCS system.

The connectors for FasTrack are .110 Quick Disconnect terminals.(female)

Lionel does make a Fastrack Terminal Section (6-12016) that has wires already connected to the track for easy hook-up to your transformer.  These are available by site sponsors, Lionel dealers (listed above) and directly through the Lionel Website.
