This model seems to be pretty popular, if you judge it by the number of examples that are often listed on eBay. I'm sure it's a fine model.

But to my eyes, something just doesn't look quite "right": is it that the cab and headlight look too long, or is it just me?

Well Mark, put your modeling skills to work......I don’t think there’s a problem with the cab roof, but if the headlight bothers you, to be sure you can find one that better suits your taste from precision Scale.......make it better than factory, and more true to the prototype you like.......Pat

Thanks for the input; I don't have one, and am not particularly interested, but was just curious.

As far as "making it better than factory", (   ) it does seem like a good basic model to start with. 

Since it was made in Korea, it probably has a can motor (as opposed to a "Pullmor") and runs fairly well...(?)

Might be worth considering after all...

Edit: I found some older threads that discuss this engine; seems it does have the can-type motor, built by Samhongsa, so it's no doubt a fine loco...

Thanks for posting those; on the model the cab appears to be longer than it is tall, whereas on the prototype the cab looks to be more "square".  I also see the headlight shouldn't have a "visor", which is small potatoes... 

The tender is not at all correct for this engine; in other scales tender swapping is (usually) an easy fix; how does that play out in 3 rail O gauge...?

Edit: Regarding the tender swap: I know that the actual connection between loco and tender is a no brainer, but with the sophisticated electronics of today, doesn't that complicate a tender swap?
