Does anyone have any experience with Lionel Switches  5167(R) and 5168(L) points not going to the stock rail?

I have two sets of left and right switches. On set was manufactured in "Hong Kong" the other set states manufactured in "China". They both look identical. The China set works fine, but the  'Hong Kong ' made switches do not move the point rails all the way leaving a gap causing a derailing. On visual inspection the "Hong Kong set" manual lever movement, it does not seem to go to the very end in comparison the switches made in China set.  Any suggestions on how to fix without having the bend the movable "rails" outwards? Gap is about 1/16 to 1/8.

Having opened up all four switches, I discovered the following: The internal parts in one of the four switches was differerent. The manual lever on two switches were in upside down. In one switch, the sliding plate differed and it was not notched to "lock" the switch in the home position. Some filing of the sliding plate and turnimg over the manual levers solved the problems.  So much for quality assembly control.
