Hi, First timer here , first time joining any forum. Anyway, First Question is will the #990 Legacy Command Set run MTH proto 2 and 3 locomotives with Lionel TMCC and Legacy locomotives? 2nd question is, does anyone know if the #990 Legacy Command Set has a phone app like the mth digital command system? I'm preparing for a large layout within a year or two that will have 3 lines/loops and just wanted to know if I will have to buy one system or two systems. Thanks Martin
Legacy will not run MTH PS-2 or PS-3 engines in command mode. You can only run those MTH engines in conventional mode and I believe you need at least a Lionel Powermaster for Legacy to run anything conventionally. You will need to get the MTH DCS system (Remote and TIU) to take full advantage of the MTH command control features. I have both and they work very well together on the same layout.
Lionel has the LCS system and the Icab app for control with your phone. I don't know if the MTH and Lionel phone apps are compatible, but my guess is they are not?
