I had a 990 in the past but have had several issues with the Cab2 that required me to send back to Lionel.  They replaced and fixed the issues fairly quickly.  When I tore down my last layout I had sold the unit as they were still very hard to find.

I have my new layout up and running but have yet to hook up any command control.  I was thinking of going with a Legacy 1L this time for several reasons.

1) I only own 2 legacy locomotives and a TMCC crane.

2) I haven't heard of many issues of the 1L like I have with the 990 set.

3) Its cheaper, I would save about $125 bucks.  That could go more towards the layout.

Cons are I really liked the brake slider on the Cab2, I could put a "load" on the train.  I think the whistle slider would work better.  I like having a screen and setting up a double header is easier.  I also like using the crane on it as the buttons change to the crane commands, instead of having to remember what number buttons do what.

So what way should I go?
