Lionel Legacy Conventional Operation - Smoke Improvement

I'm a conventional operator and have several Legacy locos. I really like the smoking whistle features on several steamers but being a conventional operator, I really don't get over 11-12 volts.

I figure the answer to this question is a "no" but wanted to at least ask. Is there any modification possible to allow better smoke in conventional? I'm not looking for MTH/Lionel command level smoke but would at least like to be able to SEE the smoke coming out of the engine I have. Would be willing to pay for modifications but not interested in sending engines off for someone to experiment with.

Again, figure its a "no" but......
