Has anybody seen or purchased one of the new Erie Lackawanna PA sets from Lionel yet? A friend of mine wants to buy one. However, the catalog art looked pretty questionable compared to the prototype for that locomotive set and he'd like to see a photo of the actual model before purchasing. Lionel 2133380. Thanks!

Hmmmm, wonder if this means nobody ordered it lol?
I only have photos of the 3rd Rail version where I worked with the historical society to get the correct detailing.

Ok thanks. The catalog art on this one was nowhere near accurate for the prototype so I'm still hoping somebody posts a pic or video of the actual product.
I'd be interested in seeing photos if they were indeed produced. This production run is much nicer than the previous ones.

Several dealers show them in-stock. Fingers crossed lol.

Wow that is so far off from accurate it isn't even funny. Thanks for posting it!
The yellow looks way too bright to me.
Maybe it's the lighting, but the colors look washed-out to me.
It would be nice to see what it looks like out of the box and perhaps different lighting
I have a set on the way. Hopefully it will be here any day. I'll post pictures as soon as it arrives
The Grey is too light for me IMO, this is why I hate buying sight unseen. If the colors would have been better I would be buying as EL is my top roadname. This happened to me last year with the Lionel's latest KCS ES44, I made the fatal mistake of pre-ordering and the colors were terrible. I have learned to wait for MrMuffin's to post the new products as he actual takes the time to open everything up and post an actual picture. I am sure this is a HUGE undertaking, I for one appreciate it and I order a lot of product from him, that is a big reason why plus great people & service!! I try not to get wrapped up in the BTO and not worry about not getting something before it is sold out, generally everything is always available somewhere!!!!!

Looks like they had the gallons of leftover (way to light) gray from the NYC E7s. 🙁

It looks like the picture of E.L. PA engines seen here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Train...co_pa1s_850_854_858/
I don't get the complaining.

THAT is fantastic!!!
Side by side photos, YIKES! I have a good number of EL and DL&W locomotives from several manufacturers, spanning decades, with slight differences in color and stripe placement, but this offering is off the spectrum. Also, I'm curious as to why they chose the very early lettering scheme. I'm OK with that but it is interesting as even the EL didn't like it.
Time to dig out my old underappreciated conventional EL PAs.
It’s too bad those were badly done. The earlier PA’s were better in look. For the Phoebe Snow, I would think they would have modeled E8’s, which were more common, although I remember a few trips with PA’s or a combination of both. I traveled on the Phoebe quite often to visit my aunt near East Stroudsburg.
JSP, as long as you like them that is all that matters!! 😀
If it were me, I’d contact Lionel and see if they would recall the shells and repaint them.
Luckily no issues with damage or it's functionality. Everything seems to run and operate properly. Fans on the smoke units are LOUD. I have the EL passenger set from the 1990s. I wish this set had the same paint job.
