I have it.  I like it a lot.  It is not quite as small as I had hoped - I guess there is no scale, articulated loco small enough that it does not stick its boiler front quite far out on 72" curves (1 1/4 inch over the outside rail): quite a bit, although less than any other articulated scale I have.

Anyway: paint and such is very good.  The detail and added on parts are good, horn and bell are okay - nothing special.  Steam and such sound is good - it sounds different - more complex in its chuffing --  than the Legacy SF Northern (I also bought) that was released with it, as i guess it should -- whether the sound is accurate for a Mallet versus some other multi-cylinder loco I could not say, but I'm happy with the sound.  Directional lights, cab lights, etc., etc., etc. are par for the course for the north-of-$1000 price range, as they should be.

It runs fairly smoothly and slowly, not quite as slow/smooth as a Vision Hudson (the best I've seen among premium locos lately) but very, very good - much better than most.  Pulls a lot - 21 reefers and a caboose up a 2.5% grade with no sweat on its cruise control.

I don't consider it the greatest bargain I've bought recently (that might be the MTH European 241.A) but its a great loco and a fair price for it.

I posted some pictures back in around new years time of it and I think the new Northenr on 72" or 60" curves. It runs nicely on 60" factrack, backwards and forwards including through switches.  And yes, its boiler front stick out looks ridiculous, but not as ridiculous as a Big boy, Allegheny, or Challenger.
