Hi everyone,

Lionel just posted the video of the new Lionel Legacy Union Pacific 4-12-2. The engine looks really cool and I think Lionel did a great job on it. I like the detailing and the sounds are really nice. Especially since they got the 3rd chuff sounds right.

Just some questions I have for anyone who knows the answers based on what is seen in the video:

Why are the tender marker lights located just behind the coal bunker and not on the end of the actual tender?

Will the engine require specific track to run on because it seems that the working third cylinder sticks out pretty far underneath the locomotive. Seems like it could be a problem for some users but then again I am going off the video.

Enjoy:

Whistle seems a bit lame but then the #9000 series engines didn't have classic UP steamboat sounds.

Have to give this guy some thought.

Joe

Yeah I agree the engine does look good and I like the unique chuffing sounds. I think the whistle is good not spectacular though. Seems to be a close cousin of the J1a whistle.

I would love to get this engine but the radius needed for this engine is not possible for me at this time.

Great find there on the video!  Enjoyed watching it.  Can't wait for this engine to be released.  Been waiting quite a long time for it!  Anyone know where I can buy those roller bearings that the engine sits on?  That would be a great way to lube and maintain the engine without actually having it on a layout.  Thanks ahead to anyone that can point me to where I can buy it.
