Lionel Lionchief question

At one time the very earliest Lionchief stuff didn't work with the Universal Remote but I think this has since been addressed and corrected.

If so you should be able to use the Universal Remote to test out your purchase.

On the other hand you'll also be able to buy a replacement for the dedicated remote that originally came with it, assuming Lionel still has service stock.  Check lionelsupport.com.

You'll need the Lionel Product Number for your locomotive though in order to conduct the search if you go this way.

Tons of people have the Lionel 6-83071Universal Remote in stock.

I did notice that. I'll try and hold out for a used one since all my other engines are legacy and this engine might not even work... Thanks for the reply.

you should be able to use the app.

The 10 year anniversary set is from 2014 I believe and would not have bluetooth for app capabilities.

The Universal Remotes are fairly cheap around $45.  Once you have it, you can use your cell phone app by putting the UR in Hot Spot Mode.
