I am having issues with stuttering in reverse. It seems that only one set of drive wheels wants to spin. It’s not a huge deal to me but if it’s fixable i’d love to dial this engine in. Jerky in reverse, but smooth forward; might have to deal with it.

Which model Lionmaster Class A is it? Did this just start happening or was it there all along? One easy fix is check the traction tires, they sometimes stretch out and bind up the wheels. Also, check the IR eye between the locomotive and tender, if that is dirty I've heard that causes weird things to happen.
Tighten the motor mount screw on the truck.
that’s exactly what i was thinking when two screws fell out of the bottom of it 😂😂
Probably a good place to start. On those trucks, there is a single screw that holds the motor on. It's quite common for them to come loose and then you have exactly what you describe.
