I recently bought this like-new operating accessory for placement in the City Park area on my O-gauge layout. I test-wired it with 14v and 18v, but the movement of the golfers is very limited - barely a 1/8th inch movement of their golf clubs -- not at all convincing and practically unnoticeable from just a foot away.  Is that the "normal" movement?

I'm reluctant to open the plastic shell for fear of breaking something inside. I wonder ... is there an adjustment of the club swing movement of the four mini-golfers?  Meanwhile, the MINI GOLF ball on this accessory spins around as it should, so it's working -- at least for that part of the action accessory.

Suggestions welcome. Thanks in advance for "listening."

Yep, you are not alone...the golfing scene is quite a let-down.  You really have to look closely to see the actual movement of the figures.  Luckily I placed it towards the front of my carnival area where it can be easily scene on my layout.

Another buzz-kill accessory is the sound effect of the "Test 'O Strength" accessory.  The bell sound was so bad!  It sounded like a chord played in a cheaply made horror movie right at the moment when the killer is revealed and about to strike his prey!

I couldn't stand it so I took it apart and ripped out the speaker!  Now its just works with lights, which is fine because when all the other accessory sounds and music are playing, the horrid "gong" is not missed!

And then there are the Lionel action accessories that are "too energetic;" i.e., the vibrating input ramp of the Coal Loader aptly called a "Coal Slinger" by hobbyists who dutifully sweep or vacuum up the coal bits scattered nearby.  It seems that more coal gets scattered than loaded. Perhaps "coal slinging" is manifest in real-life facilities too, since most coal yards are by nature messy.
