Here are some comparison pictures of Lionel’s new NKP 587 and my MTH Premier NKP light Mikado. The engines are very close in dimensions. Lionel’s 587 is a fantastic model, bringing back fond memories of it passing by our neighborhood in Fishers, Indiana on the way to transporting fair goers to the Indiana State Fair in the early to mid 1990’s. Besides the larger tender, the whistle really makes this engine uniquely ‘The 587’. Congratulations Lionel on a terrific product!
