The authoritative Guide to Lionel Promotional sets by John Schmid identifies a Lionel No.1806 Twelve Car Assortment from 1960 on Page 33. Does anybody have a picture or photo of this item?

I highly suspect the 12 car assortment was a Madison Hardware 'special bulk purchase". No display included, just 12 cars packed in a box and called it #1806. I can find no information listed at all. As you can see, 1803 and 1804 are 12 car assortments, and #1805 was the collectable Marine set. No listing anywhere for an 1806.

I just checked my guide, it appears the assortment was for Penny stores, not Madison Hardware.
