Lionel November 8-9 Warehouse Sale in Concord NC (Recap)

On Friday, November 8th Lionel invited LCCA members and their immediate family members to a special, after-hours Members Only sale at their Concord NC facility.  Lionel had dozens of discounted prices on products offered for sale.  It was like a feeding frenzy, with members purchasing shopping carts full of Lionel train items.  Our LCCA members started off their holiday season shopping by taking advantage of the many great deals on Lionel trains and holiday products.

As an added bonus, LCCA members met with renown Lionel authorized artist and LCCA member,  Angela Trotta Thomas.  Angela  was there with her artwork signing Lionel 2013 Christmas  Catalogues featuring her artwork on the cover  and Angela Trotta Thomas Holiday Season Lionel Boxcars.  Members and guests enjoyed meeting with Angela and her husband Bob.   Thank you Angela and Bob for participating and enhancing this LCCA Special Event.

LCCA members came from all over the country to enjoy the numerous operating layouts and the great sales of Lionel Products.  Lionel’s display layout which was designed and built by TW TrainWorx of Dallas Texas was there in full operation.  There were numerous Lionel trains running on various layouts  throughout the weekend.  Members and guest came and saw the new Lionel/LCCA FasTrack Modular Railroad Layout in operation. The parents were shopping, while the kids of all ages experienced the Magic of Lionel trains running on the numerous layouts in the warehouse.

On Saturday November 9, the Lionel Warehouse Sale event was opened up to the general public, and the buying frenzy continued from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM  Parents did their holiday shopping early and took their kids to see Lionel’s own operating toy train layouts in action.  A huge selection of Lionel O-Gauge train sets, refurbished product, track pieces, scratch and dent plus new  NASCAR die-cast cars were offered for sales at discounted prices.  This was another very successful sale  and LCCA Special Event.

Thank you to the 120+ LCCA members and family for stopping by the LCCA display on both days.   LCCA Members received a commemorative LCCA/Lionel North Carolina shaped pin, a LCCA Special Event pin  and a LCCA Special Event Billboard insert just for being there.   Thanks go to LCCA members Rich Dissosway and John Catania for helping out and representing the club during this event.

On behalf of LCCA President Dennis Devito and the entire volunteer Board of Directors, I also want to welcome all of the new members who signed up to join the club.  We will be planning more LCCA Special Events in this area in the near future.   I encourage each of you to get involved, submit an article, host a LCCA special event, or recruit a new member as part of LCCA’s new membership recruitment campaign.  We want you to have fun with your Lionel trains and our club.

We were glad to see you’all there!  Thank you Lionel, Howard Hitchcock, Mike Phillips and the entire Lionel staff for hosting such a  fun and beneficial event.   We appreciate your hospitality and look forward to our next Warehouse Sales Event.  It was definitely FUN!

Most of all I want to give a “Big Thank You”  to all of you LCCA members for attending and making the LCCA “The Best Toy Train Club on the Planet’!

Sincerely,

This is so cool to see folks we know through the forum and those little ID photos.  There are a lot of happy faces and children looking fasinated as well.

Next year, if it happens again and I am still here, the wagon will be headed for Charlotte!

Perhaps we can consider the holidays ofically under way as a very fine Veterans Day starts the train moving.
