I just spoke to the Lionel tech guy here at Amherst. He stated he will post a video of the locking a few weeks. I asked the question above and he stated the drivetrain is like Atlas O drive train found in the sw8&9. Single can motor with dual flywheels and driveshafts with universal joints. He further stated with that drivetrain platform they can do many other end type switcher models.
Good to hear the drivetrain is setup that way. Any idea when there coming in? They don't appear on the current Lionel Shipping Schedule (last updated on 1/11). Very eager to see these...will likely pick up a PRR.
If that's what's in the S-2 and S-4 Alco Legacy switchers then it's very good. I've had the C&O S-2 for a few years now with no issues. Great slow speed. I don't pull more than a handful of cars on flat trackage so I'm not sure of how far you can stress the motor.
