Looking for some technical advice on Lionel PA-1's. I have the D&H PA-1's 6-14574 (6-14576 Dummy).
The fan motor that spins the cooling fan (roof) has stopped operating. When I last operated these units about a year ago everything was still functioning prior to my placing them back in their box.
After the usual touch up on lube earlier this week I ran them, but did not notice that the trailing unit fan was not spinning. I noticed today. I looked for anything unusual and found nothing.
Here is what I have done:
1) Tested the leads to the motor - good.
2) Tested the motor with a used 9V battery (7.5V) - the motor operated.
3) Checked all board connections - everything was clean and tight.
4) Nothing smelled like burnt electronics.
Am I most likely looking at the fan motor regulator PCB?
Any help would be appreciated.
