Hi there,

Lionel Parts Dept. saving Christmas.  I was checking out the Christmas layouts on here the other night.  I got to thinking, hey my boys, 3&5 last year, broke Santa off the Operating Christmas Caboose.  Somehow I just spaced ordering the bracket that Santa sits on.  1 of the power prongs broke off the bracket.  Last night I made a small order from Lionel, thinking it will take weeks to get the parts.  They might not even arrive before Christmas.

I just got on an email from Lionel, "Your Parts order has shipped".

Thanks Lionel for the fast service.

Mike & Phil have really done a great job over there. I think that they could teach a lot of companies about parts and customer service. They are hands down the best in train manufactures, but I think if I compare them to other companies outside of this hobby they would win by miles.

Thanks LIONEL for hiring these guys and making our lives much better when it comes to this hobby.

Dear all

The Lionel parts service is excellent, same day postage and very well packed, delivery to the UK inside 2 weeks and usually quicker

Couldn't ask for more, by far the best service in the industry, I am so glad that I have increased my Lionel train stock in the last 2 years and I have my eye on some new models for my collection, it does prove the point that after sales service leads to increased sales, "well done Lionel"

Seasons greetings to all our pals a the OGR forum

Strogey - very nice gesture.  Kudos.

Yes - Lionel's parts department/online facilities have been great. I use their parts

inventory as a source for scratch-bashing parts. Things you cannot get anywhere else.

We 3-railers finally have a parts source. I just got a couple of steam loco Delta trailing

trucks for a project.

MTH parts? Used to be a pretty responsive system - 10 years ago.

I could Email them and they'd respond; I'd then mail an actual CHECK! Worked well.

No more, apparently.

BTW: certain Lionel non-functional parts (and some steamer

front/rear trucks) such as smokebox fronts can be used/modified to fix an MTH loco, if you're desperate.

Now, how long can this last...?

As long as Mike Reagan is willing to stay, should he quit/retire it may be time to find a new hobby. Mike has even gone as far as to contact forum members here to get information regarding locomotives the previous "Lionel" did not keep record of. Its to the point his name should be in the round logo on the boxes.

Can't say enough good things about Mike Reagan and his department.  They tried to get me the skaters missing from the ice rink when I got it at a train show.  No luck but they tried and kept in touch during the process.  Rare for a company to care about a 5 dollar part and rarer still companies that really care about the customer.
