I have a Lionel prewar 616 Flying Yankee and trying to find the correct color for it .The cab is painted in a dark green .It is close to my Lionel GG 1 I have.Does anyone know what color you call it ?Also where to buy the paint ?

I mean is it gunmetal grey or Brunswick green . That's what I'm posting about .

In late prewar, Lionel made, for a large department store in Baltimore of which I do not know the name, a flying Yankee set with the 616 having a dark green color on the cab. If this is what you have try to leave it original as it is a very rare Lionel special production.
I have never seen one, only read about it. I would guess the green color would be a match to one of the darker greens used in their prewar template.

Many thanks ! I always thought my eyes were playing tricks on me .Some people said it was dark grey but Everytime I would look at it I'd say No ! there's some green in it . Thanks again for the information .
