Who has a reliable source for replacement O gauge wheels for Lionel's series 150 and 250 electric engines, saw some on eBay (lost the bids at the end).
Hens teeth. There is a huge void right now on these wheels. MTH Makes the Standard drivers but as far as I know they do not make the O. MEW is now gone, and Bowser got out of the wheels business a few years ago and now there is no manufacturing source. You have to get real lucky and nab a set on auction. Keep trying.
All I will purchase now in prewar are these engines with good wheels.
Harry Henning Jr("The Old Man") stated not too long ago that they had someone to start casting a few wheels on a limited basis. I haven't heard anything. I'm waiting on wheels for spoked 253 wheels to surface.
Jeff Kane posted on his Facebook page that he will be producing some wheels. He showed some for the 150 prewar Lionel Electric from 1917. I think he plans on producing other wheels for different Lionel Engines. This should be some good news.
Yes George Tebolt has the 150/250 series Lionel prewar replacement wheels in spoke or plain. Ordered two sets of each, great find/price and folks to deal with. Have a couple of projects that I will use them on.
