Lionel PRR N5B Caboose to be offerred in any earlier paint/lettering scheme?
Any chance some organization would sponsor a run of the Lionel N5B in an early paint scheme?
Any prototype paint schemes like this one with yellow cupola?

probably in the future... depending on how hot this cabin car is and how fast it flies off of dealer shelves.
I have ordered mine so that is at least one off the shelf. Will pick up a second maybe but want to see it first. Been disappointed in Lionel's offerings.
I ordered one as well, can't wait to get one.
If anyone is buying the Pennsy M1a Coal Hauler set (6-81247) with the plain cabin but would prefer the separate sale cabin with the yellow cupola (6-81806), let me know. I will buy the separate sale cabin and swap cabins with you.

Since this is new tooling, I'd be willing to bet that we will be seeing it in every imaginabe scheme in the next few years, including fantasy schemes (I'd like one in Polar RR scheme, myself).
As for the one in the M1a set, I'm sure that one will be going for a premium if it can be found. I'm sure that there will be a few set breakups here and there, but there might be some heavy competition for them.

I too have one of these cabin cars preordered and would like to see it in other schemes as well. Wasn't it more common for the lettering to be centered on the car body instead of the offset cupola as shown? Hopefully the photo in the catalog is only an illustration and it will be correct on the model.
I am sure these will be pretty good models of the N5 series cabins. And I am sure, as Andy has stated that these will be offered in a multitude of lettering and paint schemes. But I am equally sure Lionel will continue its spotty track record of producing prototypically correct lettering and paint schemes. (For example the X31 box cars) Therefore I have ordered one and will repaint and re-letter.

That is helpful. Thanks for the link
