Terry, I do believe that they will have some changes if they have next year. Seemed to me that signing in was a breeze this year, or maybe that was due to me being 1st in line. But I think they have learned from the past just like having the shopping carts right there as we walked in.

The CSX speeder was down on my list from last year since I have a few but this was my 1st TMCC one and I also picked up a GN old style inspection truck which was my 1st of that kind. I also picked up some cabooses and other some cars some of which I already had but I could always use more cabooses.

They had a lot of the starter sets and fastrack which I would expect to see, unlike last year. They had a lot more of higher priced items last year which meant that they had a lot money just sitting on shelves. This has to be better for them now since they do not have all of that stuff just sitting. The autoracks I could see why that they had a pile of them since they had just gotten those in. And they were only a dollar or two cheaper then what I had payed for mine and that is not counting taxes.

But all in all it was a great day, great people and some great weather to go along with it, Thank You Lionel !!!

Yes , Paul,   I was # 7, believe your wife came and parked about 2 or 3 spot,about 0730

also, P/u a Heritage caboose, and my thoughts on the auto racks as well.

See,  need an OGR sign in for name tag,  to be table #3,

Better say something for the Red Carpet Lionel Mascot,  as he high 5 everybody, and kinda loosened all up for the morning !!!!

thanks

I wouldn't count on it Andrew. Just talked to Microscale a day ago and their selection of decals in 0 scale continues to be dropped for one reason only: poor sales.

One could argue, well if there was more unpainted rolling stock in O scale available. But the truth is 0 scale decal sales have been on the decline for years.

There are other smaller decal makers for 0 scale, and some custom decal makers - but if Microscale, the biggest decal maker continues to grow their HO and N scale lines (which new ones are announced every single month) and O scale keeps getting dropped, well....

AND THANKS Paulp for the nice photos and the wide variety of subject matter. You were under no obligation to post them, but thanks any ways for your effort.

Andrew.

I don't know if you were referring to one that was in the first room with the Frosty the Snowman sets, that was mentioned as being the make up model for the auto carriers.

Terry,

My wife and girls were sitting in the car for a while while I was standing outside with everyone, we got there about 0645 after we stopped and ate.

Brianel,

I just wanted to pass along some of what I saw and took in. I know that there are many people who would have like to went but for most the distance is just to great for them to go. I'm just fortunate enough to be retired and to be able to go, it's about a 400 mile trip for us. Last year they told us that we could take photos but for some reason the video camera stayed in my pocket. And for me, no matter how many times that I may read something a photo to me just tells me more. So to the many people who could not go, I just hope that what I have passed along will help you to understand some of the things that went on yesterday.

Mike even got on the table top... apparently "no rules" applied to this contest

Roger enjoyed giving his presentation and Scott even sent me a video of it. I wasn't able to make the trip this year but will put it on my calendar of events for 2015! I'll be needing to do some GBaby shopping That's right, Roger and I are going to be grandparents in the month of October Truly blessed!!

Dorcie, Roger,

Congratulations on becoming grandparents!  That is GREAT NEWS!   So what will we call you "Grama Traindame?

This was replenished 2 or 3 times while we were there with different cars. I missed the D&RG 19th Century passenger cars (I got two in November). I did find some Western Pacific heritage coil cars,, 3 Christmas Story Cars, there were some Polar Express Fright set cars, Pennsy and NYC boxcars.

Please see attached photos taken during Lionel's March 22, Red Carpet Event at their facility in Concord NC.  Lionel had some silent auction items from their archives.  The LCCA had their Lionel/LCCA FasTrack Modular Railroad Layout set up in its trapezoid configuration.

Here are some additional photos from the Lionel 3-22 Red Carpet Event in Concord NC.  Here are some photos of Lionel productsin  their lobby and display rooms.  The kids enjoyed the Lionel layouts and the LCCA Mini layout which was designed and built by TW TrainWorx of Dallas TX.

Attached is a photo of the winers and the not so fortunate victims of the Lionel vs LCCA FasTrack layout building contest held during Lionel's 3-22-14 Red Carpet Event in Concord NC.  The winning team of Mike Reagan and Meeghan Untereker (with the help of others) were victorious over the LCCA team of President Dennis DeVito and President-elect Al Kolis.  I can see a rematch happening at the LCCA's upcoming 44th Annual Convention to be held at the Marriott East Hotel in Indianapolis IN on July 20-26, 2014.  I personally think Meeghan Untereker is a professional track counter and as such, she should be banned from all future track laying contests held in Concord NC.   Stay tuned for future updates.  We were robbbed, and we  want a rematch in Indy!
