Lionel Rotary Dumper question

That's a good question Dave. I have a dumper but its mint never used in the box but would not mind knowing it too.

Lionel actually makes a "coal" especially for the rotary dumper but its rather expensive.

I think hard rabbit turds would work fine - I have a rabbit and will talk to him about a new money making venture.

I don't want ot be there when that gets stuck in the gears!

The accessory is made for the lionel bathtub gondolas. I suppose you could experiment with other cars but the ability to push or pull a car through the coal tipple, and leave it connected to the train, is the whole purpose and function of this great piece. 

Spring for a package or two of rotary coal for your accessory. Once again, why cut corners on something when the larger pieces were made for it. 

Ive got mine set up on an elevated level so when it dumps, it dumps into another bathtub gondola underneath. 

I enjoy mine. Great accessory that works like the protoytype!
