Lionel rotary snowplow part

Hello and thanks for any replies. Lionel rotary snowplow, 30 ton Vulcan Iron Works, has a broken band that drives the rotary plow. I saw the manual but no parts list at Lionel.com. What have some used as a fix, long thin rubber bands? Thanks very much, Richard
