Hello all!
I am considering pre-ordering the Nickle Plate Road 587 Mikado by Lionel (6-84532). But before I would do that, I want to know if anyone knows what the whistle lionel plans use for it is. I want to know if it will be new or old, hopefully not that same whistle that they used on the older mikados!

I hope Lionel codes a new whistle in these new mikados that sounds cool and authentic. Like I always say, NKP 587, Watch it Roll!

@Dave Olson said they'd be using road specific whistles (as well as road specific details) on this run of Light Mikes, both on this forum and when I talked with him at York. The 587, in particular, will use the whistle from a 587 recording they had in their sound department.
I am planning on receiving one, too. Lionel's shipping schedule says they're likely to turn up in October, but we'll see. If so, they should be here in time for Thanksgiving/Black Friday...
I got my Halloween mikado a couple days ago. I will be testing it out this weekend. I should be able to post a video.
I received my "Presidents" bluetooth Lionchief Plus Mikado last Monday. Great looking Mike. I'm looking forward to soon runningto hear the whistle they used and whether the announcements it has are new.
