The new polar express with Lionchief remote looks like an interesting option, obviously at the moment my children can only run existing ready-to-run engines on their own or on isolated track.
This engine (and the others in the catalog) are a low cost option for my grandchildren to run their trains with me at the same time as TMCC and DCS, that is really cool, however there is a increased chance of train wrecks LOL.
ps I must get the rest of the Thomas sets now in preparation for a bumper Christmas layout ! the one thing I am uncertain of is how many trains the small power supply can handle, will probably have to hook up the circuit to one of my big bricks.
