Evening Everyone,

I received my Lionel Signature Series Edition Catalog today and while going thru it very carefully, before I start to reserve some of the items that tickled my fancy, I have a question for the guys more knowledgeable than I.  Is the Standard "O" line of locomotives and rolling stock considered scale or very close to it?  From the pictures of a lot of the cars and locos, they seem to have a nice amount of detail on them.  Are they also closer to actual scale dimensions?  I'm really trying to build up a collection of scale equipment and not pick up as much of the 0-27 stuff.  I don't mean to sound snooty as there are some 0-27 stuff that I like and have but I really want to concentrate on the Scale equipment.  One other if I may, when you reserve these items from this catalog, how long will it be before they actually hit the dealers shelves, will they be deliverd in 2012 or more likely 2013?

Thank you for your time and your replies, I look forward to reading them.

Yes the Standard "O" stuff is pretty much the scale stuff. And at the present time everything is scheduled to be released this year, some of the items in the Signature Vol. 1 catalog were released even before the catalog was released. Lionel has their shipping schedule on-line and it is under the Products listing and then under the Brochures & Catalogs listing, at times Lionel updates the list and sometimes I have noticed it being updated daily. It was just updated on 5-2 I put a link to it below

Yeah like the ZW-L!!

PS Dave.. love your little layout in the MobileMe Gallery. I also collect NY Central.

Thanks gentlemen for your replies.  I know what you mean about the paint schemes, if memory servers me correctly, I see where Lionel is coming out with the Baldwin Sharks in the Daylight scheme, the SP never had any of those units, at least not to my knowledge.  I also got a charge out of the new 0-8-0 set they are coming out with that has a vanderbuilt tender behind it also in the Daylight scheme.  However, since it is SP, I will definitely put my order in for one just to display it

Cheers.
