i have a LIonel 124 Prewar station that’s missing it’s roof. Noticed on eBay there’s a 136 station roof offered. I was wondering if the 136 station roof would fit a 124 station? Any info out there?

Just eyeballing, I'm gonna guess that it'll fit. Lionel tended to re-use dies for various models. Worth a shot, I think!

It Should. There are oodles of this hip-roofed station and they are out of the same basic stamping dies. The only fitment issues might come from the quality of the roof build or the station walls squareness...after all they were just toys!
Same roof for both stations, just different colors.

If anyone asks, tell 'em it's a Lionel 130 station. Half 124, half 136. ;-)

Thanks for all the inputs! I went ahead and purchased the roof on eBay. Will be back with fit results when I get the “new roof”

Ok, sorry for the delay! The 136 roof will sit on the 124 station. Issue I had were I had to change out the light fixture. Had to install a flat rather than hip design light fixture. 136 roof has a narrow overhang on the eves. Will do until I locate the correct roof.
I don’t understand this! Another Lionel 124 station found its way to me!
and of course guess what? It’s missing it’s roof! Can’t imagine where all those roofs went? WW2,scrap drives? Who knows!
anyway... I am in need of another Lionel 122-124-134 roof: Any leads greatly appreciated!

The Lionel 124 is a venerable station and I am fortunate to possess a mint Lionel Classics version in cream and state green.
OK All, If anyone else is in need of a replacement roof for a Lionel 121,122,124, and 134 City Station,,,MTH has brand new MTH roof assemblies available for $50. painted red with chimneys. They also may have one available unpainted.
