As I understand it MTH performs warranty work for Lionel. What is the warranty period? And do they use manufacture date or purchase date?

Lionel Corporation Tinplate is a company owned by Mikes Train house. They have rights to use the Lionel name on pre-war products originally made by Lionel.
For warranty info see the MTH website. It should be 1 year from date of original purchase. Not sure if MTH has any limits on the purchase of new old stock. ie something purchased new that is more than 3 years old.
