I received my SP TankTrain Oil Can Set today along with all of the extra TankTrain cars. I also received my ADM 30,000 gal. ethanol cars. I never compared the Vision Ethanol cars to any of the TankTrain before o I put the new ethanol car to a TankTrain car. Both are the same length but the ethanol car tank seems to be a little larger. The ethanol cars are nice with the piping on the bottom half of the cars.

Maybe one day when I have a layout I can dig out the original SP Oil Can set out and compare them to one another.

First is the ethanol 30,000 tank compared to a TankTrain car.

Next is the Southern Pacific TankTrain set, I only took out the last TankTrain car out and showed it with the engine. It's surprising that I got the extra powered engine over a year ago.

Joe,

The Atlas cars will be tough to beat in my humble opinion. They are incredible.

Heres a vid on my YouTube channel:

I have two GATX tankers, I show a close-up of them around 30 seconds in.  Hope you enjoy!

I will shoot a quick vid this weekend once I pick up my Lionel tankers

Cheers!

David, I had told my wife a few days ago that I have decided to sell some of my trains. I knew that these trains were coming yesterday and yesterday I had doctors appointment and she went with me. When we got home there was this large pile of boxes on the front porch. After I got the boxes in the house she asked me "I thought that you were not buying any more" my answer was "I told you that I was going to be selling some of my trains, but these trains were suppose to be here last year"

Yeah! It did shock me that all of these were coming at once, 70 lbs worth. Luckily my pre-ordered list is now not too long. That's one reason that I have decided to thin down my collection I have run out of storage locations.

I did get a email from Nicholas Smith that they are selling this set for $669.

LOL!!!  I'm pretty certain that exact same scenario played out more than a few times yesterday throughout the country!!!    You were not alone.

Those Atlas cars look great again!

Did I hear a compressor turning on in that Lionel's soundset after the second horn blast? Wow!

I just got blasted after several boxes showed up. Then these show up? Sheesh. I did try to explain that they were ordered a long time ago.

very impress by Atlas on tank cars, I buy some last year and I love those.  Looks like Lionel do a good job on the last tank cars.  They are on my tank cars want list.

There is a TankTrain 3-Pack also available.

It lists EDT or End-of-train device as a feature.

Is the EDT a real and operating feature of the 3-Pack?

Thank You,

Andrew

Unfortunately yes. I have the previous 2 Orange/White 3 packs and they both come with this end car. There is no on/off switch for the EOT so it's awkward to assemble a train with eot's operating midtrain.

i can confirm the 29765 TankTrain 3 pack does NOT have an end of train device even though the catalog listed it.  Bummer for me but sounds like a win for you guys.

my bad i misread your post.  I am in the same boat as you and would have liked the EOT.  Others that have the earlier releases will be happy.
