lionel traditional o gauge auto racks

hi guys

i'm getting the lionel lionchief santa fe autorack set soon for christmas and i was wondering if the doors on the ends of the autoracks open up? why i ask is i've seen a similar autorack to the ones in the set and i tried opening the ends but could not open them. if they open how many hot wheels cars can some one fit in one of those autoracks?

End doors open; have never put hot wheels cars in one, so, no help from me there.
