I just was given a Type K transformer that needed a new cord, so I replaced it.  I don't believe this transformer was ever apart earlier, it looked fine and original when I removed the works from the case.  After replacing the cord and checking all the various voltage options, everyone is reading 3-4V higher than what the info plate states on the side, and I mean every possible combination is reading high.  The transformer has a nice even hum as it runs and I have had it on for around 10 minutes at a time with no problems.  I am not enough of an engineer to know if this is a problem, any advice would be helpful.  The transformer was made in 1937.
