Are these hard to find? I can't find one anywhere. Seems like most vision line products are very collectible. I'm sure the built to order line will be more collectible.

I found one on "Grand Central Limited"
Thank you.
You're welcome
Easy to find... One with broken rails you should stick to searching for bigfoot.

Not to rain on your parade, but maintain low expectations when you contact him. Half that stuff he has listed is out of stock.

I wonder why that is.
Wow half, you are generous. Those are hard to find because they were $650 retail and worth every penny. You can find some of the others rather easily but people like the UP

Perhaps. He's a nice guy, but refuses, for what ever reason, to keep is inventory up to date. Sadly, I don't bother to look anymore. I know I'm no alone.
I too am looking for one. Are there any other leads? Email in profile.
Ive struck out there every time I ask if he has somehting
I see these UP Gensets on Ebay about every two months come up for sale.
I can tell you where there are some Santa Fe units and where there is one BNSF unit

Yes, but those are not Vision Line models; they are standard Legacy without the VL smoke features. I wanted a Genset in Santa Fe livery and when they were cataloged by Lionel a few years back the description did not make clear that they lacked those features. The dealer checked it out when it arrived and confirmed the position. To date this is the only time I have had to cancel a pre-order.
If you check out the manuals for the Legacy BNSF and the VL UP or Norfolk Southern Gensets you'll see that the Legacy versions have only one smoke unit, not three - I am not sure about the sound sets:

To my knowledge the UP and Norfolk Southern models are the only VL versions of this engine.
Good luck on your search, I have one and im keeping it
Well, I've kept mine too but anyone searching out one of these ought to be aware of a couple of issues given that the price is likely to be a premium.

Mine has the background electrical buzz. The GE Evo VL model that was issued at about the same time does not. Go figure.
Mine has el;electrical buzz too but I keep it on the shelf most of the time so it doesn't buzz there
