This is a plain old ZW from the 50s. There is no power to the rear posts at all. Green power light is on showing that A/C is getting to the primary of the transformer, otherwise 0 volts everywCircuit breaker is good , The common lines are fine

I hate to tear the entire thing down, Any thoughts ??

Sorry guys & Gals, this is my 1st post- if I did anything wrong please advise me

HI ALL,

THANKS TO THOSE WHO EMAILED ME WITH POSSIBLE ANSWERS- HOWEVER, THIS IS WHAT THE FINAL SOLUTION WAS....THERE IS A WINDING THAT CONNECTS FROM THE TOP SLIDER WINDING TO THE BOTTOM SLIDER WINDING. PROBLEM WAS- THE SOLDER JOINT CONNECTING THEM WAS FROM 70+ YEARS AGO AND HAD A FIBER COVER OVER IT IN THE CORNER OF THE TOP WINDING HIDING IT,

THAT WAS IT GUYS- NEVER SEEN  IT BEFORE AND PROBABLY NEVER AGAIN!

You’re gonna have to open it up to have a look around. If unsure, there’s videos on YouTube, or how to’s on Jim Barrett’s in the back shop. Usual suspects are: broken binding post rivet( s ) on the common bus bar, broken solder joint on the common bus bar wire, failed thermal breaker, or open circuits that need to be traced. …….

I have seen all 4 common bus bar rivets broke, and the bus bar just hanging out there in the blue…..I’ve bought several that way, as the owner said it was dead, or junk…..
