Lionel ZW-L Input Needed

Need some input here. Is there any difference in the Current ZW-L in stock vs the one initially shipped back around 2013? Are there any known issues with the first run, any improvements with the current run? Etc etc. I know the first one was made in Malaysia and perhaps current runs are China. So any comments or input here would be appreciated. Thanks!

I have the original. I haven't had any issues. I know a few people have mentioned the handles being different in feel of the newer versions that's about it.
