I picked up my green City of Denver from the Train Shack in Burbank the other day.

The casting on the power car is as smooth as glass.  The finish is flawless.

It looks like the vestibules are a hair shorter in height than the originals, as there is a little more clearance between the inside of the car roofs and the tops of the vestibules (most of the originals I have seen are scratched in this area).

I have only had tome to run it around the small loop of track on the floor, once or twice.  So far it runs nicely.

The sound package seems to be similar to the one on the Burlington Zephyr (good, loud, diesel sounds).

More to follow...

Steve,

The set came in, but the extra coach has not arrived yet.  Oddly enough, the foam inside the box appears to be molded to accomodate one more coach.  I am now sorry I did not order more extra coaches, as it is a pretty short (3 unit) train right now.

Jeff,

C.W. Burfle is right.

I am running it on 031 (MTH track, but I believe that the diameter is 031).

I ran it again this morning for a while.  So far, very nice.  The sounds are so loud I can hear them in the other room (no distortion, either).  I turned them down a bit.

Last night, I put it on the track and left it to charge for a bit.  Then I looked at the manual (should have done this first) and realized it is PS-3-NO BATTERY CHARGING REQUIRED!
