Fantastic layout. The passenger cars above are what I remember riding as a small child ( 3 or 4) around 1959-1962. We lived in Syosset and had to change trains in Jamaica station to visit my grandparents in Queens. I clearly remember the long orange and white tickets which I slipped in between the seat and the frame of the seat in front of my and was fascinated by the conductor punching the ticket.
Who made those passenger cars and where can I get them? Thanks for any info.
Jon
Really great. I like some of the weathering and your ground cover is perfect!!!
At my best I could never come close.
You should be very proud of this.
Great memories guys.
Jon, I think JUST TRAINS may still have a few MTH sets in stock?
Change at Jamaica!

More great work!
Terrific setup, Steve. Being a Long Islander, I especially appreciate it.

Steve, your work is Amazing. Thank you for posting these pictures. Your Weathering technic's are really great. Happy Railroading
SIRT does not only like the LIRR.
Here are some MTH RDC/BUDD cars relettered Jersey Central by SIRT with custom decals from Toms Trains.
They are so nice that I have not wanted to weather them at all.
Nice job Steve! Thanks.

I wish MTH would make some LIRR "Ping-Pong" cars.
BTW, those cars did NOT ride bad enough to earn that sobriquet ("Ping-Pong")!
Great looking scenes Steve. Lot's of memories riding those cars to Freeport or Wantaugh to head over to Jones Beach via Bee Bus Lines. Hopefully one day some manufacturer will do the Double Decker cars.
Very nice.
