Ladies & Gentlemen,

With this warm weather I am spending some some time at the house playing with my Christmas layout and right now I have the Pittsburgh, Pa Street Car on the auto-route function in the other room, and I am listening to Frank while I am sitting here participating on the OGR. Life is good I tell ya.

I do have a question for Guns or GGG or some of the other knowledgable electronic wizards here on the OGR. If I pick up the P1 East Side Pittsburgh Street Car with Lou Redman doing the announcements, can the P1 Street Car be upgraded to P2 with the Auto-Route function?

This stop P&LE Station, Please watch your step! Please move to the rear. Next Stop South Hills Junction!

Yes, A PS1 can be upgraded to PS-2. Tight fit, but can be done. G

It won't have the same sound file. I'm pretty sure you'll loose those announcements.

Dave will probably have to create a custom sound file for it as there is no PS-2 file for the 64 East Pittsburgh route.

The sound file with Lou doing the announcements is already there, in P1 so why would it not covert with the upgrade to P2? Bummer this messes up what I wanted to do, badly.

The sound file with Lou doing the announcements is already there, in P1 so why would it not covert with the upgrade to P2?

Because the PS1 sound is on a chip, and PS2/PS3 needs a sound file.

Well that shoots this idea all to pieces, the idea was to have an upgraded original. If that is the case I will have to invest in a P1 and just leave it that way. I really wanted the auto-routing with Lou doing the announcements for the 64 EP, to add to the Christmas layout.
