There are two brass-like mounts on the (type IIE) motor in my 602 Seaboard, or at least there used to be. These are the shafts that are swaged at one end (bottom side of the top plate) to secure the field to the top plate. They extend past the field and go thru the brush assembly, and have screw holes at the top end to secure the brush assembly (top o' the motor). I think these shafts may have different diameters where they pass thru the field assy and the brush assy.

Somewhere in my errant youth, I removed and lost both of them. They appear to be part of the field assembly, an item "Not Available" per Lionel. Any thoughts on where I might obtain two of them?

I stuck a couple of long screws down thru there to see if they would work, but they are crazy sloppy and allow the brush assy and field to move ALL OVER THE PLACE! I could get them aligned and secure, and if all else fails, that's the way I will go, but I'd rather have the correct parts

Help.....

Just saw a picture, so maybe they are not brass - bad memory. Another post in this forum has this pic

I have two of the studs I will send you. The bottom will need to be drilled and tapped with a #2 screw to secure the studs or use CA adhesive to the base plate.

Jeff at the Train Tender has a field assembly dual wound with mounting studs part number 633-106. image

Thank you Stew1957 !!! That's a very generous offer! I just sent you an email with my address.

I sure would like to know what I did with the originals, or more to the point, why I felt I needed to remove them at the tender age of 13!!! I just really wanted that engine fixed and didn't know how to go about it.
