Hey Guys, I was trying to go back through old posts and see if there was any prior information but none could be found. I recently bought a Williams FM Trainmaster at a local show, it runs beautiful but it was missing a traction tire and the other 3 were in poor shape. I figured traction tires would be an easy locate and fix but apparently Williams traction tires are not so easy to find. Does anyone know if the any lionel, or MTH traction tires will provide a suitable replacement? I've also heard about this bullfrog snot, but it seems like most people only use it on smaller gauge engines. Any information or direction would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone!

There are numerous sources for traction tires. The Lionel 222-108 is almost a universal replacement for diesels.
Thanks Rob, I'll give the 222-108's a try and see what happens.
I would measure one of the old tires and focus on the width and thickness. Bachmann has Williams now. So you may want to check with them.
One thing I noticed is that the 222 are thicker and wide. So many prefer the MTH versions for fit.
For a Williams Brass, they had a very thin groove. I contacted Weaver who took over the line and they said they modified to a wider groove. I went on Lionel's web site and found an alternative that was thin width to work.
If the tire is the wrong thickness or width (especially width) you might have some issues with performance. G
I'm with GGG, as long as the width works, I use the MTH diesel tires for most Lionel diesels.
Calumet Trains makes what they market as an "O27 Scale Super Traction Tire", PN: 2505, that I find work well on Lionel, Williams, and WBB diesels. They are made of a clear material, so aren't as obvious as the traditional black tires. Available from Walthers, along with a number of other places.
