I have the MTH Canadian Pacific Christmas Locomotive with lights. It will light up, horn will blow, bells will ring, but it will not move forward or backward. Any suggestions on what is wrong? Thanks

what is your power supply? Are you running in command?
Are you lowering the voltage correctly to get it out of neutral? Is it locked in neutral?
What's the product number?
nobody can help you without a product number or engine cab number and name on locomotive Pennsylvania etc !
Alan
If running conventional it could be locked in neutral.
But we need more information (product number, running conventional with a transformer or DCS) to provide accurate help.
From the invoice it is an MTH 30-20640-1 Christmas Dash-8 Diesel Engine P3 and LED Lights with the following additional info:
- MPN 30206401
- GTIN0658081422176
- UPC0658081422176
I am running it on Lionel FastTrack, using a Lionel basic transformer. Thanks!
What is the model of the transformer. Many are NOT recommended by MTH to use. A CW 80 is not the best choice if that is the one.
Yes, it is a CW 80 and it has worked for months. Just suddently stopped working
That transformer may have confused the engine and it's locked into neutral.
You could do a reset. I would recommend that you don't use that transformer!
Thanks. Newbie here. So how do I unlock it?
